Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Communications Technician plays a dual role, combining responsibilities in both multimedia content production and digital communications. This position supports multiple research projects by assisting in the creation, editing, and distribution of multimedia content while also managing and maintaining email listservs and communication resources. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of materials for project meetings and workshops. 
  • Work with researchers to create media content to disseminate/communicate project results to different audiences. 
  • Work with researchers to update and maintain project websites. 
  • Maintain and manage listservs and email correspondence for conservation groups (e.g., avian botulism network). 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Undergraduate student currently enrolled at UH Mānoa seeking a degree in NREM, Biology,  Graphic Design, Creative Media, or a similar field of study. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong interest in wildlife, ecology, conservation, and natural resources management. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, technical, and creative skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across teams. 

Desirable Qualifications: 

Knowledge of/interest in using AI to develop multimedia products. Previous experience in media production, graphic design, or related fields.
