Hello. I’m Sharla, I’m an art director by trade. And I love telling stories through design. I am fascinated how simply the colors of red, yellow and green is able to control so much of our lives.
About me
I’ve been a seamstress for most of my life. I don’t know what my life would be without sewing because I love color, patterns, and creating pieces with my hands. I should have been a Fashion Designer.
What I do currently.
Associate Director of UHWO Creative Media | Faculty | Retired Distance Education Coordinator
What I do indefinitely.
I believe in telling stories. I especially love in re-telling of history. Since the advent of the internet, people no longer have to travel to learn or experience another culture or era or history. We can bring these experiences to them. This is what fascinates me. I believe in fusing databases, artifacts, animation, web technology, media, text and graphics into stories that adapt to different learning styles and interests. I believe with a two-way storytelling tool this will empower people to steer their own stories and weave that history within their own lives.
I also do: Art Direction | Branding | Marketing & Advertising
My Education.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University with specialization in Advertising. I graduated from the Academy of Art University in 2008.
