About The Event

The New Arts Lecture Series 2019 and Kapi‘olani Community College with support from the Wallis Foundation is pleased to present a talk by renowned concept artist and illustrator, Darek Gogol. Featuring original pitch boards and visual development drawings from an array of Hollywood movies, Gogol will discuss the role of illustration in igniting the creative process and show how concept ideas are shaped into camera-ready form. From his work in art departments of over 40 movies, he will demonstrate how ideas evolve through the concept design process into fantastical new worlds and action-packed dramas that drive audience imaginations.
