Assistant Editor Intern

at PBS Hawaii/HIKI NO
Available through:

All Campuses

Location:

315 Sand Island Access Road Honolulu, HI 96819

This internship position is for an Assistant Editor to work with PBS Hawaii’s Vice President of Learning Initiatives and the HIKI NO Associate Producer/Online Editor on the editing of weekly episodes of the award-winning HIKI NO statewide student news network program and to re-format content from the episodes for social media, YouTube, and other digital platforms. The Assistant Editor would also, depending on his or her abilities, have the opportunity to edit new, original content for or related to the program (such as “making of” or “behind-the-scenes” features, promos and other interstitials). If it meets PBS standards, this content would air on PBS Hawaii and, thus, the intern could lay claim to having created content that aired statewide on Hawaii’s only public television station. The Assistant Editor Intern would work remotely (not at the station), should have experience editing with Adobe Premiere, should have access to a computer on which to edit, and should have internet connectivity in order to upload and download digital media files. The intern would receive supervision from the Vice President of Learning Initiatives and the HIKI NO Associate Producer/Online Editor via phone calls, emails, and during virtual, online meetings.
